2000 Ch. Branon Bordeaux/Pessac Leognan 750ml
The winemaking for Branon, which is produced from a special parcel of vines that were originally part of the Haut-Bergey estate, is overseen by both Michel Rolland and Jean-Luc Thunevin. The debut vintage, 2000 (650 cases produced), is undoubtedly the real deal. Its opaque purple color is followed by strikingly sweet, smoky, black currant, cocoa, scorched earth, fig, and graphite aromas. Full-bodied, remarkably concentrated, pure, and multi-textured, with a finish that lasts nearly a minute, this fabulous wine will be fascinating to follow. Stunning stuff! Anticipated maturity: 2009-2025. by Robert Parker Intense aromas of plums, berries and red licorice. Full-bodied, with lots of plum and spicy character. New wine for me. Serious i vin de garage n from Pessac. Best after 2008. 650 cases made. by Wine Spectator
